About Our Massage & Bodywork Therapies
Thai massage is a combination of acupressure, yoga stretching and zen shiatsu inspired by Buddhist teachings passed down for centuries. Also known as “lazy man’s yoga,” Thai massage is performed on a floor mat with the client clothed in loose fitting wear.
Although there is passive/assisted movement performed, the meditative state of the practitioner and the light compression work to the major meridians makes for a very relaxing and therapeutic session. The effort of the practitioner works to free tension within the body using not only their hands and elbows but knees and feet as well. Thai massage is beneficial for many different conditions. Our seasoned members love it because it is impossible, no matter how flexible you are, to stretch yourself to full range without engaging other muscle groups while relaxing.
Others with chronic (back, neck, hip, knee) pain, sciatica, scar tissue build-up, post stroke, heavy leg syndrome, etc… benefit from this modality. Your highly skilled therapist can even incorporate Thai postures into your next table massage.
Stones are used to sedate and dilate the blood vessels helping to take the body into a deeper state of relaxation as well as melt away the tension in the muscles faster and easier.
The hot stone experience relieves pain, promotes harmony, balance and peace. This therapeutic treatment is especially good for areas of chronic muscle pain.
Ashiatsu (ashi means foot and atsu means pressure) is an ancient form of bodywork brought to us by Buddhist monks.
An adaptation of an ancient form of barefoot massage using deep compression effleurage gliding over the body. Gravitational force is combined with centrifugal and centripetal movements to bring about a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage.
Ashiatsu provides deep relaxation and stimulates the lymphatic system of the body. Bars are used by the therapist overhead to help with balance and to provide a means to regulate pressure onto the client’s body.
This is the perfect gift for you and your partner. An anniversary or special occasion is the best time to relax and there is no better way to do this than with a massage. Enjoy each others company in a private room while receiving massages from two of our trained professionals. (Massage occurs in the same room).

Prenatal massage shares many of the goals of regular massage, to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and mobility, and just make you feel good. It’s tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies, and therapists who are trained in prenatal massage adjust their techniques accordingly.
Most women find it uncomfortable to lie face down during the start of their pregnancy. It is not easy lying face down on a traditional massage table once your belly has started to grow. It is not a good idea to lie flat on your back once you’re past mid-pregnancy because the weight of your uterus puts too much pressure on the vein that returns blood from your legs to your heart.
For these reasons, our therapists use a special hollowed-out pillow to accommodate your belly so you can lie face down. If you find this position stresses your lower back or uncomfortable, you can lie on your side with pillows for support.
Ear Candling is an non-invasive way of cleaning the ear canal using special candles. The hygienist begins with a hollow candle that’s made of unbleached muslin (often immersed in an aromatic herbal solution, and then dried) and shaped into a cone and dipped in beeswax.
Excessive earwax buildup can cause discomfort, headaches, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), or vertigo. Ear Candling may help alleviate these conditions. Also, ear candling may draw out fungus, infection, candia, and other debris from the outer and inner ear canals and the Eustachian tube through osmosis. Many have found it safe and effective, as well as meditative.
Reiki is considered a form of energy work. Reiki is a technique for stress reduction, relaxation and natural healing that allows everyone to tap into an unlimited supply of “life force energy” to improve health and enhance the quality of life. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit and creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security, and well-being.
The name Reiki comes from the Japanese rei, meaning “universal,” and ki, meaning “energy.” Reiki energy is equivalent to the vital life force, or qi, in traditional Chinese medicine, and to prana in Ayurvedic medicine.
