Thai Yoga Massage **NEW**

Thai massage is a combination of acupressure, yoga stretching
and zen shiatsu inspired by Buddhist teacings passed down
for centuries. Also known as "lazy man's yoga,"
Thai massage is performed on a floor mat with the client clothed
in loose fitting wear. Although there is passive/assisted
movement performed, the meditative state of the practitioner
and the light compression work to the major meridians makes
for a very relaxing and therapeutic session. Because of the
slow, rhythmic compressions and stretches to the body's energy
lines, a typical session requires at least one and a half
hours of time. It is not unusual to have a two to three hour
session. The effort of the practitioner works to free tension
within the body using not only their hands and elbows but
knees and feet as well.
Thai massage is beneficial for many different conditions.
Our seasoned members love it because it is impossible, no
matter how flexible you are, to stretch yourself to full range
without engaging other muscle groups while relaxing. Others
with chronic (back, neck, hip, knee) pain, sciatica, scar
tissue build-up, post stroke, heavy leg syndrome, etc... benefit
from this modality.
Your highly skilled therapist can even incorporate Thai postures
into your next table massage. Just ask. We would love for
you to experience it.

| Shiatsu
Shiatsu (shi means finger and atsu means pressure) is an oriental (Eastern) therapy of physical and energy rebalance. Shiatsu is performed by applying finger, thumb, and palmer pressure along meridian lines of the body to stimulate chi & balance energy flow (n o knees or elbows are used in the foundation form of shiatsu therapy). Usually Shiatsu is defined as an oriental "massage" but it is much more than that. It acts through pressure and points of the human body, without the use of any mechanical or of another type instrument, correcting internal dysfunctions, promoting and keeping the health and treating illness within the body.

LaStone® is a multifaceted technique with therapeutic potential that goes beyond measure. The physiological benefits of alternating hot and cold to the body have long been scientifically and medically proven. The stones are the medium and the hot and cold temperatures are the message. This "vascular gymnastics" of the circulatory system assists the body in self-healing. LaStone Therapy T administers this principle with unerring elegance; producing sedative and reenergizing responses to the body. This form of bodywork involves the use of heated and cooled stones; Geo-Thermo-Therapy (SM), applied to the body in various ways to bring about relief to stiff and sore muscles; resulting in alleviation of chronic and acute problems that many of us deal with on a daily basis.

Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy®
Ashiatsu (ashi means foot and atsu means pressure) is an ancient form of bodywork brought to us by Buddhist monks. An adaptation of an ancient form of barefoot massage using deep compression effleurage gliding over the body. Gravitational force is combined with centrifugal and centripetal movements to bring about a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage. Ashiatsu provides deep relaxation and stimulates the lymphatic system of the body. Bars are used by the therapist overhead to help with balance and to provide a means to regulate pressure onto the client's body.
